I have been a professional custom flag and banner maker since 1983. It is truly an art and I feel so passionate about both the work I do and all of the wonderful people I have met over the years who have inspired me. I owned and operated a flag shop called Flying Colors Ltd. on Thames Street in Newport, Rhode Island for nearly fourteen years. We had a retail store that serviced homeowners, businesses, the America's Cup teams, hundreds of boaters, both power and sail as well as many of the US Navy ships stationed there.

Fast forward to 2007 and to Seattle, Washington and the reinvention of this passion of mine through the internet with the help of my daughter Zera Marvel. Many of our old customers, who became part of the family in Newport, can once again hoist their flags. Our new customers are just as thrilled to have found such a treasure.
